WINTERSURFSCHOOL™ is a project created by professional surf instructor Carlos Domínguez (aka Charly / Carlitos), who has over 11 years of experience teaching surfers of all levels. Located on the Pacific coast of Mexico, in the state of Nayarit, our school offers private and group surf lessons, kids sessions, surf trips to the best local spots, and surfboard rentals.

The name “WINTERSURFSCHOOL” reflects the spirit of our season.
Every winter the high season begins: our friends and returning students come back, new people arrive, and the coastline fills with energy, sun and perfect waves.
It’s the time when the ocean is at its best — and when our surf community grows the most.

About Carlos

Carlos is the co-founder, CEO and Head Surf Instructor of WINTERSURFSCHOOL™.
Born in Tijuana and raised in Bucerías, Nayarit, Carlos grew up on the Pacific coast, before surfing he began do bodyboard when he was 12 y.o with his friends on local waves. He studied aquatic recreation at CETMAR La Cruz and built his path through ocean-related work — from lifeguarding and sailing to deep-water activities.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Carlos focuses on safe, structured, and confidence-building surf lessons for beginners and intermediate surfers. His approach is simple: clear guidance, attention to technique, and helping people feel at ease in the ocean.
